RULES OF ROSEVILLE COMMUNITY DAYS

  1. 1. This is a community event; therefore community organizations, residents, businesses, products receive priority.
  2. 2. All vendors are responsible for liability insurance and compliance with any and all requirements of State of Ohio.
  3. 3. Roseville Park is located in Perry County; therefore all food license must be obtained through Perry County Health Department.
  4. 4. All products will be displayed in a clean and safe manner.
  5. 5. Vendors are responsible for leaving a clean area at closing.
  6. 6. All vendors shall exhibit professional manners always.
  7. 7. Tables and canopies are the responsibility of the participate.
  8. 8. Spaces shall be assigned by the Community Day Chairperson.
  9. 9. Applications and applicable fees and/or donated items shall be paid by November 1, 2018. No Exceptions.
  10. 10. In lieu of cash payment a donation is acceptable. It must be a new item of the same value and will be used by the Community Day Committee for a silent auction.
  11. 11. Collected fees go towards advertising, equipment, maintenance, and other items as decided upon by the Village of Roseville Community Day Committee.

CHILI COOKS RULES AND REGULATIONS

People’s Choice- Consumers will be judging

  1. 1.

SET-UP WILL BEGIN AT 9:00AM. A SITE MAP WITH YOUR SPACE WILL BE AVAILABLE AT TIME OF ARRIVAL.

YOU MUST COOK A MINIMUM OF 5 GALLONS OF YOUR BEST CHILI. HOWEVER, WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO MAKE MORE SO THAT YOU WILL NOT RUN OUT BEFORE THE JUDGING.

  1. 1. SPACES ARE APPROXIMATELY 10 X 10 AND MUST BE ACCOMMODATE BY A 10 by 10 CANOPY.
  2. 2. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BRING YOUR OWN TABLE, CHAIRS, AND CANOPY.
  3. 3. YOU MUST KEEP YOUR CHILI HOT (HEALTH DEPT. REGULATIONS) TO DO THIS YOU NEED TO USE A GAS/PROPANE GRILL, CAMP STOVE, HOTEL PAN OR PORTABLE PROPANE STOVE.
  4. 4. ELECTRICITY AND WATER ARE NOT AVAILABLE ON SITE.
  5. 5. YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN, WATER, TOWELS AND SOAP FOR WASHING HANDS. TRASH BAGS AND CANS WILL BE PROVIDED ON SITE.
  6. 6. ALL DISPLAYS, BOOTH DECORATION MUST BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE COLOR YOU ARE GIVEN. THIS COLOR WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU WITHIN 2 DAYS AFTER REGISTRATION.
  7. 7. GENERAL PUBLIC ADMITTANCE BEGINS AT 11:00PM AND WILL CLOSE AT 11:00PM. CHILI MUST BE READY BY 11AM AND BE SERVED TO AT LEAST 3PM. WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUCED AT 4:00PM. CHILI CAN ONLY BE SERVED FOR $1
  8. 8. TASTING CUPS/BOWLS, SPOONS AND NAPKINS WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE PARTICIPANT. ALSO PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN FOOD HANDLERS GLOVES AND WASHING STATIONS PER HEALTH DEPARTMENT REGULATIONS.
  9. 9. ALL VEHICLES MUST BE REMOVED FROM SITE IMMEDIATELY AFTER SET-UP. (PARKING ON SIDE STREETS AND PUBLIC PARKING LOTS ARE AVAILABLE-FREE PARKING ON SATURDAY)
  10. 10. BOOTH SPACE CLEAN-UP IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARTICIPANT.
  11. 11. ENTRY FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE, ALL PROCEED WILL GO TO ROSEVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
  12. 12. THE VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE ASSUMES NO REPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, INJURY OR CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE PARTICIPANT’S ACT OR OMISSIONS DURING THIS EVENT.
  13. 13. THE FOLLOWING IS THE CRITERIA ON WHICH THE CHILI WILL BE JUDGED.

Chili/Beans must be cooked from scratch on site the day of the cook-off.

COOKED FROM SCRATCH - "Scratch" is defined as starting with raw meat. No marinating is allowed. Commercial chili powder is permissible, but complete commercial chili mixes ("just add meat" mixes that contain premeasured spices) are not permitted.

No ingredient may be pre-cooked in any way prior to the beginning of the official cook-off.

All chili and beans must be prepared onsite.

Cooks ARE allowed to pre-chop and premeasure all ingredients.

· CATEGORIES MUST BE CLEARY MARKED AT YOUR BOOTH– definitions:

RED chili is defined as any type of red meat or combination of red meats, e.g. beef, venison, duck, etc., cooked with red chili peppers and other spices and ingredients. BEANS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

GREEN/WHITE chili is defined as any type of white meat or combination of white meats, e.g. pork, chicken, turkey, etc., cooked with green chili peppers and other spices and ingredients. Beans ARE permitted, including canned beans.

FREESTYLE chili is defined as any type of meat or combination of meats, or a Vegetarian chili, cooked with any combination of chili peppers and other spices and ingredients. Beans ARE permitted, including canned beans. Vegetarian chili is defined any combination of chili peppers, vegetables, beans, etc., and other spices and ingredients to create a chili-like dish that does not include any meat. Beans are permitted, including canned beans.

BEANS are defined as any type of beans cooked with other spices and ingredients. Beans may be pre-soaked prior to the beginning of the official cook-off.

· SANITATION - Everything must be prepared in a sanitary manner.

Hats and gloves must be worn when handling, cooking and serving.

Cooking conditions will be subject to inspection by the Perry County Health Department. (Failure to comply is subject to disqualification.).

· You must be willing to taste your own chili/beans.

· Chili/beans must be covered with a lid when not serving.

· Teams are allowed to give samples of their chili/beans to other teams. Teams are NOT allowed to give samples to the public prior to 11am and all must charge $1.

Any deviation from this rule will result in disqualification.

· Trophies will be awarded by People's Choice and presented by Roseville Police Department.

LEMONADE CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS

ENTRY FEE: $5 per entry, due by Thursday November 1, 2018

Prizes will be awarded including Best Original Lemonade and Most Creative Stand. People’s Choice ballots will be available from 11am-1pm. Winners will be announced at approximately 2pm at Roseville Park.

*Lemonade must be made with real lemons.

*Sugar options are up to the participant but must be identified in writing on your sign.

*Other flavoring or fruit may be added but is not required

*All participants must sell a small cup for $.25. Make sure you have enough change on hand. *Participants are allowed to take tips.

*Booths are to be ran by the participant. Parents may watch and help but primary the child will make, pour, and give change.

*Stands must be homemade and will be judged. The stand must not exceed 4 feet tall by 3 feet wide.

*No more than two child(ren) per stand.
